Britain's winter ends tomorrow with further indications of a striking environmental change: snow is starting to disappear from our lives.
Sledges, snowmen, snowballs and the excitement of waking to find that the stuff has settled outside are all a rapidly diminishing part of Britain's culture, as warmer winters - which scientists are attributing to global climate change - produce not only fewer white Christmases, but fewer white January's and February's.
However, the warming is so far manifesting itself more in winters which are less cold than in much hotter summers. According to Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia,within a few years winter snowfall will become "a very rare and exciting event".
"Children just aren't going to know what snow is," he said.

There are of course a lot more, but I'm sure you get the picture, exactly the same thing has been happening in America as well, people get told one thing, you are supposed to believe it, but you find a few years down the track, it just wasn't right.
All these people have since got smarter, and now they make their predictions for 2020/2050, these seem to be the magic dates now. Anyway Australia's snow is going to be that thin that it is going to melt the minute it hits the ground, hence no more skiing.

The latest of course is now Climate Change brings snow as well,but isn't the idea of a carbon tax, cap and trade etc. to stop the world from warming? I feel they were left scratching their heads and this is the best they could come up with. Must keep that money coming in at all cost.

They really got this climate change and global warming thingy very wrong in 2000 not much has changed in 2011 nature is still carrying on as normal as far as i can work out :-).

There was a range of predictions, all never happened, as I said they are getting smarter, and now predicting things way into the future. No doubt there will be other posts like mine in 2100.
If it all wasn't costing us so much money it would be laughable.
The climate was never a fixed thing, it waxes and wanes and is forever changing. just because they get paid so very much money does not make these scientists any more right that anyone else...especially since many of them seem quite happy to change and falsify results to support their own diagnosis.
I think it's all bullshirt and will change and continue to change as it always has.

I totally agree. I find it laughable when they come out with these stupid things, no more snow, no more rain, and the list goes on and on, but of course everything they say turns out to be false.
That is why now they predict things for 50 years time, so the truth won't come out until then. But the scare is working, and people are handing over there hard earned money for nothing.
