Say No to a Carbon Tax Updated (Australia/Petition)

Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard before the Election.

Julia Gillard Now.

Julia Gillard strikes a deal with the Greens on carbon pricing.

Julia Gillard on the Alan Jones Breakfast Show, Radio 2GB.

Wayne Swan (now Deputy Prime Minister) before the Election.

Wayne Swan now

What a bunch of Liars these people in Government have turned out to be, whether you believe in Climate Change or not doesn't matter, what matters is this should of been done at an election, the Australian people should be able to have a vote on this, after all it is going to change not only our lives but our lifestyle as well.

I feel that our PM should put the idea of a Carbon Tax on the agenda in the next election, not just thrust it onto the people, it is not right, it is also undemocratic, what is she afraid of?

If you are against a Carbon Tax, Menzies House is running a petition.

UPDATE-The protest rallies are now up and running and organized, for those that are interested the times and dates are on the petition web page up the top under Rallies..

A bit of thought to leave everyone with. Our ex PM now our Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd has brought a beautiful house at Noosa Heads. Now I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that, I wish I could buy a nice 5 bedroom house on the beach too, what I think is wrong with this, is this is the guy that pushed and pushed for Australia to have an Emission Trading Scheme, a true believer in Climate Change.

But it seems maybe not, a house on the beach, (rising seas ring a bell) fully Air Con (everyone must conserve power we were told, and turn off your a/c) and to top it off a heated swimming pool. Is this a case of do as I say not as I do?

Climate Change will always be with us because it's a natural cycle of the planet. Putting a tax on Climate Change won't make it go away, it's a con :-).

Hi Windsmoke,
Yes I am also a skeptic, but this tax should be taken to the people of Australia to vote on, that is the only decent thing to do I feel.

Is anyone really surprised? She lied to Rudd the night she stabbed him in the back. She lied to us about that very thing the very next morning and they continue to lie...both parties..all the time

Hi Tempo,
What surprises me is how the media seem to be letting the PM get away with this rubbish. Our PM is becoming a dictator as far as I'm concerned, this Government has wasted Billions on rubbish, and now that the Country is broke, they want to tax the people to the hilt. Julia should not be allowed to get away with this.

I agree, they cheat, they lie and feather their own nests then jump ship with their gold card firmly between clenched teeth..shouldn't we be able to sack them when they dont do their job properly

Hi Tempo,
You would think in a democratic society we should be able to something but apparently not, it beggars belief that they can and seem to be getting away with this.

Menzies House is organizing some marches, I know that there will be a march in Canberra on the 23rd of March all details are on Menzies House web site, which is in the link on the petition.

They also mention they are trying to organize something for each Capitol City but no details as yet.

I will be going to the march in Brisbane come rain, hail or shine. I am still finding it hard to believe this is happening, what on earth happened to our democracy? I think you are right, this should of been put to an election. I also signed the petition.

Hi Sue,
I also will be going to the march in Brisbane regardless of weather, personally I feel the people have a right to be heard over this issue.

For a look at how badly the tax is going to effect the steel and shed industry in Australia, take a look at

Shed prices will go through the roof.

Hi Shedeye,
Shedeye that is not a bad article that you have written. I think a lot of people do not realize how this tax is going to affect everyone's lifesyle. That I feel is because the media are mainly backing the Government on this.

All everyone seems to here is about the electricity at home, but everything is made by power, regardless of what you buy even a can of beetroot will have a carbon tax.

Hey Mags! Haven't dropped in for awhile - but looks like nothing much has changed between posting this and now!!

Lets face it, Aussies WANT to believe the good stuff - and we forget the historical lessons of past elections when we have been burnt by doing this, and do it all again next time.

And sadly, the alternatives aren't that attractive either ...

Hi Red Nomad Oz,
Lovely to hear from you again.
I wanted to keep this message about the carbon tax as the first post you see, until after the Brisbane rally.

I went to the "No Carbon Tax" Brisbane rally today the 7th of May, so I will be putting in a post tomorrow about the rally as soon as I sort through the pictures.

Yes we certainly do get burnt, times are not good at the moment I feel.

Climate change ??? comming from scientists that are predicting the weather for the future that cant even say what tomorrows weather is going to be!!! from history we can see that earth has gone through cycles who is to say that we arnt in one now?? and then what happens when the earth starts going back into an ice age another new charge for future generations. One thing i have seen from the governments is when theresdroughts we pay more for water when theres rain and dams are back at capacity they dont revert to the old fares yet increase again on next drought.

Mags118 said...

Hi Anon,
You are so right, there are actually some that say we are still coming out of a mini ice-age, and a new ice-age will again start soon.

The huge prices we are all paying now for water is ridiculous, these keep going up also because of the electricity rises, as electricity also gets used for the water pumps as well. Unfortunately I don't think we will ever see any of these rises going down, they will continue to escalate.
Thank You for visiting and your comment.

hi, does anyone know where I can find things to counter pictures such as there's a guy i know on facebook who is putting up this crap all the time and im sick of it, i was wondering where i could find something that opposes the carbon tax in a similar fashion

Mags118 said...

Hi Raphael,
Nothing exactly like that, but there is plenty of things on the net that disputes man made climate change, and the crap that Julia and Labor keeps going on about.

Everything that is in the PDF, can be proved to be a lie. Have you ever been to Andrew Bolts blog? You will get good information from there, also check out some of the links I have here in this blog, under the blogroll, you will also get some good information from those as well.

We were asked to reduce water usage because of dams being low, result Water boards profits went down so prices increased.

We were asked to reduce our electricity usage supposedly to reduce all those black balloons, result bills are higher for less usage. Who is kidding who about conserving water and electricity.

This carbon Tax is fraudulent and if people think $300 a year is going to cover it then they are sadly delusional.

Mags118 said...

Hi Anon,
You are spot on. The rise in utility bills alone are going to send a lot of people to the wall. This is going to cost a lot more than the Government is saying.

Transport costs, electricity rises, will cost us heaps extra no matter what we buy. It will mean inflation, which in turn also puts up interest rates. Not good times ahead for anybody, but still some people cannot see it, unfortunately.

The sheer brutality of the arrogance of the Gillard/Green coalition is frightening. Never in over 40 years covering Australian politics have I seen this level of dissregard for ordinary Australians.
Ian Leslie.

Hi Ian,
I agree, I personally think it is getting way out of hand, I think a lot of people may feel exactly the same way.

It also amazes me that no one in the Labor really cares about Australia or the Australian people, power seems to mean a lot more to these people than the Country or the citizens. It beggars belief.
